The eight-session arc

How Self OS works

Eight coached sessions, weekly then biweekly, with short practices between them and a private Journey Journal™ inside this platform. Four movements: map the system, meet the patterns, step back and clarify values, then reorganize and commit.

The sessions

Eight sessions, four movements

Sixty to seventy-five minutes each, by video. Sessions 5 and 6 are coach-led only: the deeper younger-aspect work happens live, never as a self-serve exercise.

  1. 1

Map the system · 65 min

    Orientation and System Mapping

Introduce the model, normalize inner multiplicity, identify the opening focus, produce a first sketch of the client's inner team.

  2. 2

Build relationships with protective and reactive patterns · 65 min

    Meeting a Protective Pattern

Establish a working relationship with the dominant protective pattern. Often the inner critic, perfectionist, caretaker, or productivity driver.

  3. 3

Build relationships with protective and reactive patterns · 50 min

Working With a Reactive Coping Pattern

Establish a relationship with the dominant reactive coping pattern. Common targets: evening alcohol, doomscrolling, food, online shopping, sexual acting out, rage. The work is the same regardless of behavior.

  4. 4

Step back and clarify values · 65 min

    Stepping Back and Values

Strengthen stepping back from difficult thoughts, name core values, connect inner work to the life the client wants.

  5. 5

Meet and release a younger aspect · 70 min

Permission and Approaching a Younger Aspect

Begin the deeper work. With the protective relationship established, seek permission to meet the younger aspect underneath.

    Coach-led only
  6. 6

Meet and release a younger aspect · 75 min

    Witnessing and Release

Complete the witnessing, retrieval, release, and invitation sequence. The heart of the work.

    Coach-led only
  7. 7

Reorganize and commit · 65 min

    Reorganizing the System

Let the protective pattern take a new role, address inner conflicts that no longer serve, begin installing grounded patterns into daily life.

  8. 8

Reorganize and commit · 75 min

    Committed Action and Maintenance

Consolidate the work, install the maintenance practice, name what remains, design the path forward.

Between the sessions

Small, ordinary, daily

Short practices (two to five minutes) that many people find settling, a five-button check-in for the moment a setting takes over, and the Journey Journal with its Signal, Story, Need, Becoming template. Everything lives inside the platform; nothing is emailed as content and nothing is downloadable.

The Practice MenuTwo to five minutes. Pick one; live with it.
The five-button check-inSteady, Lock, Chase, Blanket, Shadow. One tap, then a line.
The Journey JournalSignal, Story, Need, Becoming. Yours, in your words.
The DecouplerA short guided pause for the moment a pattern has you.

The Self-Discovery Modules

Eleven modules, in your order

Each is four lessons, four practices, four journal prompts and one integration line. The Self OS Journey includes your first two; the membership opens every module, two at a time, in sequence.

01

Self-Awareness

You cannot change a pattern you have not met.

02

Boundaries

A boundary is not a wall, it is the edge that makes love sustainable.

03

Nervous-System Regulation

You cannot think your way out of a body that believes it is unsafe.

04

Relationships

Belonging does not come from proximity, it comes from being known.

05

Purpose and Values

Meaning is not found, it is reconnected, piece by piece.

06

The Louder Season

Louder is not broken; it is a setting showing up more often, and settings can be updated.

07

The Caretaker's Edge

Care that has no edge does not last; the edge is what makes it sustainable.

08

Seasons

A life has seasons, and a winter is not a failure.

09

Focus and Follow-Through

The gap between meaning to and doing is a signal, not a verdict on your character.

10

Overgiving

Being useful is not the same as being seen.

11

Your Body Remembers

Listening to the body is not the same as reliving what it kept.

Named parts of the method

The words you will hear

Teaching names, not clinical terms. Each describes a pattern, a practice or a state, never a person.

The Autonomic Reset™
The toolkit for the moment a setting takes over: six short practices and the Decoupler's six-minute sequence, in the order the body needs. It names a set of practices, not a promised result.
The Adaptive Baseline™
Your own baseline, measured at the start of the Journey and again at the end, and the daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly protocol that keeps it. A self-reflection index, not a clinical measure.
Embodied Flow Framework™
The Default Settings layer of Self OS as the high-achiever meets it: the four settings, the Practice Menu, the Decoupler and the check-in, framed for people who want their capacity back, not a diagnosis.
The Regulatory State™
The state the system reorganizes toward: the steady center leading, the settings available but not in charge. Self OS describes it; it never promises it.
The Narrative Baseline Assessment™
Your own account, in your own words, of how the load has shaped the way you see yourself and your life, written at the start and read again at the end. Not scored, not analyzed by software.
Nervous System Sentinels™
The protective patterns: the jobs your system runs to keep you safe. The four settings are their most common shapes under load. A Sentinel is a pattern with a job, never a label for you.
The Meta-Observer Pivot™
The pivot from being the reaction to noticing it: 'I notice the part of me that wants to fix this.' The observer is the one noticing, which means you are larger than the reaction.
Narrative Lock™
The sentence that runs the setting: 'If I do not fix this now, everything falls apart.' Step back from it with 'I notice the story that ___.'
